On July 24, 2025, Wisconsin governor Tony Evers ’73, MS’76, PhD’86 announced he would not run for reelection. Following Evers’s announcement, several candidates campaigned for the governor’s seat. Democratic Nominee
David Crowley is county executive of Milwaukee County. He previously worked for nonprofits and as an organizer for Public Allies. He worked on Russ Feingold’s campaign, was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 2016, and was elected county executive in 2020. He graduated from UW–Milwaukee. Republican Nominee
Tom Tiffany serves as the representative for Wisconsin’s Seventh Congressional District. He previously served in the Wisconsin State Assembly and Senate for the 12th District.
