Los Angeles Chapter
A Wisconsin Alumni Association Bascom Chapter
Our purpose is to build an inclusive local community of UW alumni and supporters united by Badger pride, spirit, and the desire to advance UW–Madison’s positive impact on the world.
The WAA: Los Angeles Chapter provides opportunities for UW–Madison alumni, students, parents and friends to connect with each other and share their love of our great university. More than 6,000 University of Wisconsin graduates live in the Los Angeles area. We offer events such as social gatherings, educational presentations, outings to movies and the theatre, hiking and kayaking, and game watch parties. We hope you will join us!
WAA Stories
Much of modern American “funny” can trace its roots to Kentucky Fried Theater, a zany group of friends who provided comic relief in the midst of the UW’s tumultuous antiwar years.
Abrahams helped found Kentucky Fried Theater at UW–Madison and went on to success with films such as Airplane! and The Naked Gun.
