2016 Paul & Jean Pohle Scholarship – Non-Freshmen Only

The WAA: Twin Cities Chapter offers a scholarship to honor the founders of Pohle’s Badger Blast, Paul and Jean Pohle. Pohle’s Badger Blast is the premier tailgate party of the Big 10, attracting 2500 WI Alums for a pre-game party before the WI at MN football game. The first Blast was held in 1971, and it has run over 20 continuous years (biannual event). Profits from this party benefit our scholarship programs. To specifically honor the event founders and to recognize the tremendous volunteer spirit required to make this event happen, we created the Paul & Jean Pohle Scholarship.

Each fall we award a scholarship to a well-rounded UW-Madison student who has displayed leadership and a volunteer spirit, both in and out of the classroom. The applicant must be a graduate of a Twin Cities high school (the 7-county metro area includes Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington counties) and have completed at least 1 year at UW-Madison. The applicant should also be in good standing with the university. This scholarship will be awarded in the form of a tuition credit for the second semester of the 2016-2017 school year.

The application is due by October 15, 2016.
