Dr. Alex Gee is leading an effort to build a new Center for Black Excellence and Culture in Madison.
His mother, Verline, is his hero. Dr. Gee tells the story of his mother’s love for her children, and her determination to create a better life by earning two degrees at UW-Madison, which shaped Gee’s life and love of the university.
