Reclaiming Our Narrative

Join the Latinx Affinity Group featuring Professor Andrea ‘Tess’ Arenas on July 14 at 6PM for this virtual event. Reclaiming our Narrative highlights the importance of storytelling within our families, the Latinx community and specifically Latinx Wisconsinites. The Wisconsin Latinx History Collective project led by Professor Tess is a prime example of how to document our Wisconsin Latinx voices. She travels around Wisconsin collecting stories from different Latinx (primarily Chicanas) activists about ways they have changed history within their families and/or communities. We will bridge the importance of our personal stories to the greater Latinx community. Participants will be inspired by the histories of our community and learn to conduct their own documentation of their history. We will be raffling off various items to participants. Registration is required.
